Membership in COSMET
is on an individual basis and is not company or corporate. To be eligible for membership an individual must be involved in the operation of a surface mine utilizing draglines, power shovels, bucket wheel excavators or loaders. And that person must attend three (3) of seven (7) consecutive meetings.
Associate Membership
Certain professional people, such as engineers, employees of institutions of higher learning, certain governmental bureaus, and certain nonprofit institutions may
hold associate memberships (Non-voting).
Guests
Individuals who are not members of COSMET
but meet the qualifications for either regular membership or associate membership may attend meetings as guests. An individual who does not meet those qualifications must receive the permission of the Membership Committee to attend any meeting as a guest. Guests will be subject to the same meeting registration fee as that for members.
Overseas Membership
Must meet the criteria set for associate or guest membership and attend one of seven (7) meetings to maintain active membership.
