The sole objective and purpose of COSMET is to enhance communication between people
who have a common responsibility of maintaining, improving and utilizing surface mining
equipment. Breakdowns, repair, service, erection and maintenance of strip mining equipment
is time consuming and costly. New methods, designs and retrofits must be communicated to
eliminate the "reinvention of the wheel", "trial and error method", or
"independent research".

COSMET is an independent
and objective organization, owing nothing to anyone. COSMET does not allow
"outside-sponsored" hospitality suites at the meetings or meeting location. This
has proven successful in the past and will be kept as such.
Funding is provided by the meeting registration
fee. COSMET is registered as a non-profit organization and ran by elected members. |
